Standard fantasy scoring awards zero points per reception. Yardage and touchdowns are the entire scoring pie, which tilts the leaderboard heavily toward high-volume rushers and touchdown-dependent wide receivers. A 1,500-yard, 12-TD running back will finish near the top of this list even if he caught only 20 passes, while a 100-catch receiver with 1,100 yards and four touchdowns may drop outside the top 20.
The players who consistently lead the standard scoring leaderboard are your yardage monsters and your touchdown specialists. Traditional workhorse running backs dominate the top end because their rushing totals compound into huge yardage plus the bulk of their team's goal line touches. Wide receivers on the list are usually deep-threat alphas whose 15-plus yards per catch pads their total enough to offset the lack of reception bonuses. Slot receivers and three-down backs who rely on passing-game volume fall several tiers compared to their PPR ranks.
If your league is standard scoring, this is the board to draft off of. It is less popular than PPR in modern fantasy, but it is still the scoring format of many legacy leagues and deeper dynasty setups. The biggest format-driven decisions in standard are whether to prioritize a pass-catching back (less important than in PPR) or a touchdown-heavy committee back (more important in standard). When in doubt, check how far a player's standard rank diverges from his PPR rank — the bigger the gap, the more format-dependent the pick.
